Our little Princess…a day unfolds

Streamers, balloons, a princess tent and a beautiful sunny February day to welcome Mika into her 3rd Birthday! What a day…

All set for the party! At least one of us is. Matching outfits (Martha Stewart style I am told)! Iona decided she couldn't be out of my arms which made for a few difficult moments:)

Friends and cousins arrive with dressup clothes, ready to party.
Out come the strawberry snacks to get things going.

After some coffee and snacks and running up and down the hall a dressup game ensues. We all pass the bag and when the music stops we get to pick a surprise from the bag! It seems all good until some people don't want to wear what they get. Oh dear…

Ok, time for action plan food! This otta help the little princess get back on track. After some present opening, a new outfit arrives! Just in time to cheer the little one up. Perhaps all this attention was just too much for her. Princess tupcakes, as she calles them were definitely the highlight for her. I couldn't wipe her smile off!

Go go sugar energy! Into the princess tent we go! Dancing and laughing with glee!

Now we're talking! This little three year old has found her bounce once again. What a joy to watch her enjoy life as a kid!

And yet here she could be a teenager! Suddenly my little girl is all decked out!

I am continually amazed by you Mikayla. You're growing up so fast and I just want to hold on to your innocence and free spirit so that it lasts forever.
I know that your curiosity won't always lead you to pleasant discoveries. But I see your gentle heart grace us over and over again.
You welcome the world with open arms.
You light up with glee at the simplest things.
A sucker, a bus ride with Dad, a jump over the couch or a piggy back up the stairs.
I only want to think of more things to bring that big Klassen smile back onto your face!
Streamers, bright dresses, balloons and treats! I want to spoil you so much dear girl!
And I will as long as I can!

Crying, like I do every year, wishing I could be there. Mikayla you are so beautiful and exactly like your mama says, your gentle heart is plain for all to see. Isn't being a kid the best? I know you're enjoying it to the fullest.
